NORTHERN AUSTRALIA.

(BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH— COPYRIGHT). London, September 13. Ax the British Association M. Rougemont read a second paper regarding his remarkable experiences in northern Australia. He expressed the hope that he would be enabled to lead a prospecting expedition to districts in the interior of Australia, which he believed to be rich in mineral and precious stones. Dr. Forbes expressed himself sceptical as to the genuineness of Rougemont's statements. Several other Australians appeared convinced that Rougemont justified his statements. Mr Lind, of Geelong, expressed surprise that Rougemont never, in the course of his wanderings, struck the overland telegraph line.
