AUCKLAND NEWS.
(by telegraph—press association). Auckland, Last Night, At the Supreme Court sessions, Edward Trevor on a charge of assaulting Phillip Sandford, was acquitted. The racehorse Nor'-west was shipped to New Plymouth to-day in the s.s. Gairloch, en route to Hawera, to fulfil his engagements at the Eginont Spring Meeting'. At the annual meeting of members of the Takapuna Jockey Club, the receipts were stated as £SGS7, leaving a profit of £1164. Inspector Emerson leaves to-morrow for Ruatoki, via Opotiki, to settle the native disturbance there.
