To the ElectorsYou are now asked to vote for three members to serve you on the Hamilton Borough Council. This, the commencement of a new era of loon I government, will, I feel sure, be attended with issues of great moment, and on the spirit in which the Council works depends the welfare of our district. It is of the utmost importance that the work be carried on in a Imsine-.slike manner, combining progress with a careful and due regard, not only for the present, but also the future. I have had the honour of representing you on the Hamilton Borough Council for over seven years. I may, therefoie, claim to have some considerable knowledge of our Borough affairs, in which it has always been my endeavour to combine efficiency with economy. I would remind you of the fact that although our overdraft is somewhat heavy, owing to abnormal expenses, such as Gibbon's Creek, Hamilton bridge, etc., yet our Borough enjoys considerably lower rating than any other Borough in the Auckland District, with, at the same time, privileges and immunities second to none. 1 have always supported a forward policy of welldirected and careful energy, and it is as a supporter of THIS policy that I again come forward. I may now mention, with regard to questions on which there has been some little discussion, that I am, and always have been, in favour of a creditable Public Library and creditable Saleyards ; I also think the time has now arrived for the burgesses to express an opinion re the advisability of a proper Water Supply. I have no interest to serve save the good of the district in which I have lived for 21 yeais. I ouly ask those who have known me from the commencement of my public life an unprejudiced opinion and ONE VOTE. —I am, ladies and gentlemen, your obedient servant, DANIEL SALMON. rpo THE RATEPAYERS OF THE 1 BOROUGH OP HAMILTON. Ladies and Gentlemen,— I am a candidate for your suffrages at the forthcoming election, and, if elected, will insist upon strict economy and do all 1 can, without fear or favour, for the advancement of the Borough. I will not descend to a personal canvas?. 3/9 J. A. YOUNG. HAKESPEARE OTEL, COKNER OF WVNDHAM AND ALBERTAUCKLAND.
