Melbouene, September 7. Earthquake shocks have occurred in various parts of the colony, but no damage was done.

The annual report of the railways shows that the revenue decreased ever £7OOO compared with the previous year. On loan moneys expended on railways the revenue paid was 271 per cent., while the average interest on borrowed capital, totalling over thirty-six millions, is •!).') per cent. J^ WORKMEN'S LIEN BILL. Brisbane, September 7.
In the Legislative Assembly an amendment to trie Workmen's Liens Bill wis carried against the Government. The Premier refused to accept the amendment, but appeals and protests are to be made to both sides of the House. He announced that the Bill will disappear from the business paper.
