The Waikato Argus Office, Monday. MESSRS Mc NICOL AND CO.'S CATTLE SALE AT CAMBRIDGE. Messrs McNicol and Co. Refori\—At our annual Cambridge spring cattle sale, held on Saturday last, we yarded 801 head of well-bred, quiet cattle. The 150 grown steers and 60 fat cows advertised from Patetere were a choice lot: the steers were nearly all five-year-old, well grown and most of them killar.le. The first six pens were heavy weights and well done, making from £7 to £3 : others from £5 5s to £6 5s ; fat cows, £3 7s 6d to £4 9s. The draft of three-year-old steers from Waimarama were a wellbred lot, and sold readily from £3 6s to £i 13s ; fat cows from neighbourhood, up to £4 15s ; one and a-half-year-old steers, 30s to 39s ; well-bred, but iowconditioned two-year-old steers, 425; strong steer calves, up to 25s ; steers and heifers (mixed ia pen), 15s to 225; smaller calves, 10s upwards ; well-bred two-year-old steers, in nice order, £2 15s ; backward springing heifers, to £2 17s 6d; empty cows and heifers, 35s to 435. Altogether 679 were sold, those passed being a draft of 30 well-bred three-and-a-half-year steers off turnips, and the balance low-conditioned calves and young stock. AUCKLAND MARKETS.
