Potatoes firmed up a little; onions weaker ; knmaras and pumpkins wanted at extreme values; butter still scarce ; eggs more plentiful; local chaff is scarce ; the fruit market is very dullNew Zealand apples from North and South are nearly done, and values easier ; poor man's oranges still in great demand ; lemons still retain values; hothouse tomatoes, 6d to 7d lb ; hares and rabbits sell well, and it would pay any one to kill for this market; poultry and pigs very firm at late values; all dairy fed prime pork realised 3d to 4d per lb.
