EMBEZZLER ARRESTED.
(BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH—COPVRIGHT). Sydney, August '?~. A man alleged to be wsnted on a charge of embezzling £28(5 in Aucklandhas been arrested here, and will be brought before the Court tomorrow. (Racuived August 29, 9 30 p.m.). Sydney, August 2D. The man, named William Henry Cole, charged with stealing £286, the property of Herbert, of Auckland, was remanded for a week. Accused arrived in Sydney a month ago, and evaded the police by coui'ng ashore in a steward's dress. Detective Jones has been on his track ever since, and ran him to earth at Long Bay, a lonely spot on the coast. Cole was concealed in the ceiling of a cottage.
