SOUTH AUCKLAND RACING CLUB.

The annual meeting of the members of the South Auckland Rasing Club was held in the Commercial Hotel, Hamilton, on Saturday evening. There was a good attendance, Mr 0. Edgecumbe being in the chair.

The Treasurer read a statement of the results cf the last tneetiug, which showed : Receipts, £3OO 5s 1 Id, and expenditure, £'25G 3s 6d, leaving a cash balance over the meeting of £SO 2s sd, In addition, there was a payment of old arrears received of £3 13s, giving a balance of £53 Isi sd. Out of this, £35 IGs 9d old arrears had been paid, which left a balance in hand of" £l7 ISs Bd. This was considered most satisfactory, ami the balance sheet was adopted on the motion of Mr Coates, seconded by Dr. Kenny. The following gentlemen were elected as the Committee for the ensuing year, viz. : —Messrs G. Edgecumbe, I. Coates, C. .J- W. Barton, T. Slade, A. Furze, W. Booth, R J. Gwynno, H. E. Tristram, J. W. 11. Bright, J. Trubshaw, A. J. Storey and Dr. Kenny. On 1 bailot being taken, it was dee dud that the following six should retire in 1899, in accordance with rule 9, viz : Messrs G. Edgecumbe, Barton, Slade, Bright, Storey and Dr. Kenny. On "the motion of Mr Storey, seconded by Mr Coates, it was unanimously decided that the annual subscription be 10s Gd, as last year: It was resolved to recommend to the Committee that the following be appointed as official representatives on the Committee', viz : Messrs A. Bach, Cambridge ; A. H. Atkinson, Paeroa ; F. W. Browning, Tauwhare ; H. Windsor, Tamahere; W. T. Carr, Cambridge ; E. M. Dickey, Whatawhata ; E. 15. Cox, Taupiri ; and W. S. Laurie, Ohaupo. The first meetiirc of the Committee was fixed for Saturday. 10th September, at the Commercial Hotel, at S p.m.
