Dairy butter, per lb: Wholesale, lOd ; retail, Is. Factory butter, per lb—New Zealand Dairy : Wholesale, Is to Is Old ; retail, Is 2d. Factory cheese, per lb : Wholesale, 4id to ojd ; retail, 6d. Onions, per lb : Wholesale, 1-Jd to 2d ; retail, 2d to 2£d. Table potatoes (local), per ton : Whole sale, £6 10a ; retail, £7 30s. Seed potatoes (local), per ton: Wholesale, £6 10s ; tetnil, £7 10s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) report :—Auckland Wool Stores, 24th August.—Offerings at our sale on Tuesday were large, and prices for hides ruled firm at late rates. We quote :—Hides : Heavy stout ox, 4id to s.}a lb; medium, 2}d to 4jd ; light,~3£d to 3jd ; no prime stout offering ; cow, extra good conditioned 3jd, bulk 3£d to 3jjd, scored and sloppy Id to |d less ; stags, to 2d ; calf, 3d to 4£d ; kip, 3d to 3Jd. SheepsKins sold at late values. Extra large, 48 to 4s 5d each ; large, 3s 6d to 3s 9d ; small and medium, 2s 6d to 3s 3d. Oats: Last week's quotations still hold good, viz., 2s 6W to 2a 7d c.i.f-, but the market shows a strong upward tendency. Chaff: The market is firm at £4 7s 6d ton at rail; £4 12s 6d exstore. Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons' Weekly Report.—At the Haymarket, meadow hay has brought from 3s 9d to 4s 9d cwt; straw, from 18s to 30s load ; oaten chaff, £4 10s to £5 ; potatoes, £6 10s to £8 ton ; feed oats, 2s 9d ; seed oats, 3s 4d bushel. On Friday horse stock in moderate supply kept their values. Medium to heavy draught brought irom £l4 to £32 10s ; light harness, £4 to £10; spring cart, £B. On Tuesday hides were at late values. Ox hides ranged from 3d to 4U\ ; cow hides. from 2|d to 3£d ; tallow, 13s to 15s 9d c*vt; bones, 3s 6d. At Remuera on Thursday, useful cows at profit were from £4 15s to £5 15s ; calves, 56 sold, and fully kept late values. Fat cattle, in usual number, 240 yarded, Mere at late values, and prices were from 17s to £1 the 1001 b. Steers ranged from £5 5s to £9 15s; cows, £3 17s 6d to £5 each ; fat sheep in average numbers, 1356 sold, were lower in prices ; wethers were from 12s to 16s 9d; ewes, 10s to 12s 6d each ; this season's lambs brought from 9s to 14s*9d each. Messrs Hunter and Nolan's Re» pokt.—Maize on wharf is selling at 2s 9d to 3s bushel; feed oats, 2s lOd ; seed ditto, 3s 3d to 3s 4d: chaff, £4 5s to £4 15s ton ; bran, £3 15s to £4. At the Durham Yards on Friday, horses were yarded in less than average numbers. There is a good demand for heavy draughts and horses suitable for ploughing. Heavy draughts ranged from £l2 15s to £24 10s ; medium ditto, £lO 10s to £lB ; light harness, £3 10s to £9 15s; hacks, £3 to £Blss; weeds, 15s to £1 ss. At the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday dairy cows were yarded in limited numbers ; teef was plentiful, and the price steady throughout at from 18s to 21s per 1001 b for ox beef, and 16s to 18s for cow. Steers sold at from £6 5s to £8 12s 6d ; cows, £3 2s 6d to £6 15s ; dairy cows, £3 10s to £5 15s. Sheep: The Newmarket Yards were well filled, and sheep sold freely. We quote : Wethers, 13s 9d to 17s 3d ; ewes, 9s 6d to 14s; hoggets, lis 6d to 12s 9(1. Pigs scarce, bacon pigs required. Porkers sold at from 14s fid to £1 9s each ; bacon ditto, £1 13s to £2 los ; rough store pigs, from 6s 6d to 10s 6d.
