T«k Waikato Argus Office, Monday. MR W. J. HUNTER'S CAMBRIDGE SALE. Contrary to expectations, Mr W. J. Hunter had a really good sale at Cambridge on Saturday. The yards were well filled and most of the stock was quitted at remunerative prices. There was a large supply of young cattle of good quality that went off readily, the steers makiDg from 25s to 32s 6d, and mixed sexes brought 24s and 255. Strong calves went at from 17s to 235, and store cows made* £2 to £2 7s 6d. A large number of dairy cows were sold, bringing up to £5 2s, and a superior lot of springing heifers from Beer brothers made from £3 to £3 ss. Fat cows brought £3 17s 6d to £4 10s, and fat sheep went at 10s 3d. There was a good demand for draught horses and several were sold at £2O, and we understand a number were sold privately at a like figure. The usual sundries found ready purchasers, and on the whole the sale may be considered a very good one. MESSRS McNIOOL AND CO.'S SALES. Messrs McNicol and Co. Report.— The 3000 Loch Inver wethers sold at Cambridge on Thursday last were a strong, healthy lot The first draft of 1800 made from 8s lOd to 9s; second draft, 6s 10s ; third 6s, and fourth ss3d; the first lot being well-woolled LincolnLeicester sheep, and the other three showing nearer the Merino; 400 ewes amongst the lot made from 4s lid to 83. At Waitoa on Friday, the 19th. there was a larger muster than there has been for some months, and nearly all sold. One and a-half to two-year-old steers, 35s to 46s ; two and a-half year steers, £2 19s; fresh empty cows and heifers, £2 la to £2 18s; yearling steers, 255. The 170 head of beef yarded, with a few exceptions, were all sold. Well fattened light ateerß, £5 to £5 7s ; heavier, £6 to £7; fat heifers, £3 10s to £4 6s; fat cows, £4 to £5 5s ; three heavy cows, £5 18s, £6 Is, and £7 2s. Dairy cows, yarded numerously, were low. Fat ewes, lis Id to 12s 3d ; ewes in lamb, 8s 6d to 9s ; heavy fat wethers, 153. The furniture sale held at Te Aroha on Saturday, the 20th, was well attended, and most of the articles sold fairly well. AUCKLAND MARKETS. Mr J.
