FRENCH CRUISER LOST
(BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH—COPYRIGHT.) (Received August 1!), 10.15 a.m.) Paris, August 18. The French cruiser La Perouse was caught by a tidal wave at Madagascar, and wrecked. General Gallievri, the French commander at Madagascar, had a narrow escape from drowning. The crew were rescued, and the gun stores saved.
