The attendance was unusually large and brilliant. The Speech was very brief. Iu reference to Federation, it was stated that the Government • would submit a series of resolutions to the House, and if these were agreed upon, then the Government would propose a conference of Premiers of the other colonies. Whatever . the outcome of such conference, a draft Bill would be submitted to the direct vote of the people.
