TRINITY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH CAMBRIDGE.

At close of the Communion service at Trinity Church, Cambridge, last Sunday morning, which, in the absence of Rev. T. Scott, had been conducted by the Rev. Win, Evans, a letter was read by Elder Fisher from Mr Scott intimating with grout regret that the condition of his health rendered it necessary for him to retire for a while from active duty, and that he purposed, with the approval of his congregation, applying to the Pics bytery for three months' leave. He was glad to say he had secured the services of the Rev. W. P.eattic, M.A., an esteemed and able minister, to till his place during his absence. The session clerk reported that the letter had been fully considered by the session and managers at a joint meeting, and the office-bearers recommended the congregation to comply with their respected minister's request. A resolution, proposed by Elder Fisher and seconded by Mr C. Lake, was carried unanimously, expressive of the deep sympathy of the people with their pastor and his family in his affliction, and cordially agreeing to the proposition in hope of benefit to his health. A further resolution was also passed expressing the thanks of the congregation to the Rev. Will. Evans for the valuable assistance he has frequently rendered in supplying the pulpit, often at short notice. Mr Evans responded, saying it gave him pleasure at all times to help his ministerial brother, Mr Scott. It is expected the Rev. Beattie will enter on bis duties next Sunday.
