THE BANK ROBBERY.

LABOUR AGITATOR ARRESTED. (BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH. —COPYRIGHT.) Melbourne, August 6. The man who gave his name as Ryan when arrested ia connection with the bank robbery at Penthurst has been identified as James Slattery, at one time a prominent figure in the Labour movement iu the Western districts. In 1596 he was sentenced at Adelaide to three and a half years' imprisonment for a series of clever mining scrip forgeries, but was released last mouth. At the time of the lobbery Mr Jamieson was in sole charge of the Penthurst Bank.
