LIBELS ON ZOLA.

(UY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH-COPYRIGHT). (Received August 5, 10 p.m.) Paris, August 4. A -writer in the Petit Journal recently attacked the character of M. Zola. Among other statements he alleged that Zola's father was dismissed from the army for theft. An action was instituted against the writer of the libellous article, and also against the manager and publisher of the journal. The writer was fined 2000 francs, and the manager and publisher 500 francs each, while the three accused were ordered to pay 5000 francs damages.
