The Waikato Argus Office, Wednesday. McNICOL AND CO.'S STOCK SALE. At McNicol and Co.'a Ohaupo sale on Tuesday, about 150 head of cattle were yarded," mostly dairy cows and young stock. The day was extremely boisterous, and there was only a tmall attendance of the public; the stock also looked cold and tucked up. Dairy cows were numerous, over thirty being offered, but there was not much demand ; no grown steers; calves were plentiful, and of a good quality. Prices as follows : Dairy cows from £3 to £3 7s 6d ; empty cows, £2 6s to £2 10s; calves, mixed sexes, 18s: yearlings. 30s ; 18months old steers, in low condition, from 25s to 275; fat cows, from £4 to £5. Sheep: About 600 were yarded, and although they were all of a good class they, looked wretched, owing to the downpour of rain ; still there was a good demand, and all sold under the hammer : 4-tooth cro-s-bred wethers, 8s 4d ; empty owes and wethers, mixed, 7s 4d to 7s 7d ; small empty ewes, 4s ; longwool ewes in lamb, 7s 6d ; aged ewes, 5s sd. HAVYERA MARKETS. The Eomoks Farmers' Union report: —On Tuesday, the 26th inst., we held a clearing sale on account of Mr J. N. Myborn, who has given up dairying. The stock were of good quality and realised good prices. We quote : Dairy cows, £3 10s to £8 17s 6d ; dairy heifers, £2 5s to £5 ; horses, £lO to £lB. At our usual fortnightly sale at Mauaia on the 27th inst., the yards were well filled with cattle, mostly dairy heifers, and being rather backward were hard to quit. We quote : Fat cows, £3 to £3 8s fid ; three-year steers, £3 2s 6d to £3 ISs Cd; 12 to 15 months' steers, £1 to £1 7s; cows and calves, £1 15s to £2 2s 6d ; dairy heifer*, £2 10s to £3 10s.
