The correspondont of the Daily News at Berlin gives an account of a terrible scene at the little to»vn of Mincrvino, in Italy, where the mob plundered and murdered for eight hours. After doing a doctor staying in the village to death, the rioters rushed to the house of a miser-millionaire. He had shots fired from the windows, but as this did no good, he threw iOOOf. in small nickel pieces out of the window into the midst of the crowd. All in vain. The doors were battered in, and a ttrrible scene followed. Barletta bargained for his life. Ho offered thousands upon thousands of francs—ail his fortune, in fact ; but amid savage cries of " We want your head," the old usurer was beaten to death like a mad dog. Marietta's wife was also frightfully injured with blows from a hatchet, and the children barely escaped the awful fate of being dashed down from the balcony. The mob then went on plundering. They penetrated into all the houses of the better classes, robbing, killing, and burning. Those attacked dare not even defend themselves, but voluntarily opened their doors and handed over all the money demanded. After eight hours of plundering, the military arrived on the scene, and the mob iled, heavily laden with loot.
