PRESENTATION TO MR AMD MRS SEDDON.

The Opera House was crowded on Saturday night, the occasion of the public demonstration tendered by the Liberal party to Mr and Mrs Seddon, in honour of the former's 53rd birthday. Mrs Seddon was presented with a handsomely framed and illuminated address, a silver tea tray and a gold watch and chain, aud Mr Bcddon received au address aud a gold watch and chain. Speeches of a congratulatory character were given by Messrs Kerr and McCullough, M.L.C.'s, Miller, Fisher, Wilson, Ward, M.H.R.'s, and others. Mr Seddon briefly returned thanks, saying he had always done his best to promote the well-being of the peop'e of the colony. The Opposition were believed to be panting to get before the people, but he was at any time prepared to lay the works of the Liberal party at the feet of the people and let them judge.
