A. E. Manning's Eucalyptus Cough Mixture is the best preparation obtainable for the cure of Coughs, Colds, Asthma, Bronchitis, Influenza, etc. is 6d and 2s 6d per bottle. Some time ago the colonies were greatly perturbed through somewhat chimerical fears of a Japanese influx. Advices from Japan bft the mail by the Talune (says the New Zealand Times) seem to show that the fear—if ever well grounded—has little foundation in fact at the present time. Exporters from Japan complain bitterly of the difficulty experienced in getting orders fulfilled, the serious drain upon the labour market caused by Japan's ambition to rank amongst the great nations of the world, both on sea and land, and the large additions both to the army and navy thereby necessitated, having seriously depleted the labour market. All this, together with the immense rise in the local price of rice (nearly f>(J per cent, in the last twelve months), is causing an immense increase in wages, which, if continued, must seriously handicap Japan as a competitor iu the world's markets.
