The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) report:—Auckland Wool Stores, July 27th. —We offered a large catalogue at our weekly sale last Tuesday. All good hides were well competed for, but faulty lots were neglected. Hides : We sold prime stout ox, sgd to 6d ; heavy stout, 4|d to 5d ; medium, 3sd to 4£d ; light, to 3fd ; scored and cut, to U\ less ; cow, best, 3|d to 3gd ; kip and calf, 3£d to 4d ; stags, l£d to 2£d. Bheepskins : Large, 3s 9d to 4s 2d ; small and medium, 2s 6d to 3s 6d. Tallow : Best rendered, 15s to 15s 6d per cwt. Horsehair, 10d to Is lb. Oats : Shipments to hand thi3 week are very heavy, and sales are reported ex sailer as low as 2s 4d, c.i.f., for B grade; however, the market seems steady now, and,' we think, will shortly take a turn for the better. Maize : Very little to hand this week, and the market has risen 2d bushel, present price being 2s 6d on the wharf. Chaff is selling at £4 5s ton at the railway. Messes Hunter and Nolan's Re- , port. —Horsefeed. seed, grain, etc. : A steady demand has prevailed, and sufficient has been brought forward. We quote : Maize on wharf 2a 6d, ex store . 2s 9d bushel ; feed oats, 2s lOd ; seed oats, 3s 3d ; bran, £4 10s ton ; chaff, £4 5s to £4 15a. Horses: On Friday, at Durham Yards, horses were yarded in usual numbers ; but mostly of a light stamp, for which the demand is limited. Heavier horses show an improvement in prices, and are wanted. Heavy draughts brought from £l6 to £25 10s each ; medium draughts, £l2 to £l7 10s ; light harness, £3 to £9 15s ; hacks, £3 10s to £9 10s. Wool, hides, skins and tallow : Usual quantities were brought forward, and disposed of at depreciated values. Prime stout ox hides, 5Jd to 6}-d lb ; •tout ox, 4d to 4Jd ; steers and. cows, to 3j)d ; kips, 2£d to 3gd ; calfskins, 2icl to 3£d ; tallow, 12s 6d to 15s cwt ; rough fat, l|d ; hones, £3 15s ; sheepskins, Is 5d to 3s 9d ; some extra heavy-woolled skins sold at 5s lOd to 7s 4d ; pelts, 8d to Is 3d ; wool. svjd lb ; pieces, 2Jd to 3jd ; horse hair, Is Id. Cattle : At the Newmarket yards on Tuesday, thore was an average number of hit stock, and dairy ■tock was well represented. Prime beef realised fully last week's prices, but in-sufficiently-fattened were a little lower in prices. We quote: Ox beef, from 193 to 2ls 1001 b ; cow, 17s to 19s ; fat steers sold at from £5 to £9 5s each ; cows, £3 12s 6d to £5 12s 6d ; dairy cows sold at from £3 10s to £6 17s 6d ; one choice half-bred Alderney brought £9; dry cows from £1 10s to £2 15s. Sheep were yarded in less numbers than usual, and there was a slight decline in value, especially in fat ewes. Wethers sold at from 10a 6d to 15s 3d each; merino wethers, 5s 9d to 8s 9d ; ewes, 9s 9d to 12s ; mixed sexes, 9a to 103 6d ; hoggets, 9s to 12a 6d. Pigs, scarce: Porkers Bold at from 19s to £1 7s each ; weaners, 5s to 6s; rough store pigs brought from 4s to 12a. Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons' Weekly Report.—At the Haymarkct, fodder was at lower values. Meadow hay, 3s to 3s 6d ; oaten sheaves, 4s 3d ; Sydney lucerne, 4s 6d ; pressed meadow hay, 5s ; bran, 4s 3d ; wheaten straw chaff, 3s ; oaten chaff. 4s 9d ; Chesterfield guano, 3s 6d ; bonedust, 6s and 6s 6d ; blood and bone manure. 4s 6(1 cwt ; straw, Pis to 17s load ; carrots, £1 10s ; potatoes, £6 to £7 10s ton ; maize, 2s 9d ; dun oats, 3s to 3a 4d ; feed oats, 2s lOd bushel. On Friday the wet day prevented the usual muster of horses. Of those brought forward, few remained unsold. Active horses, suitable for farm work, brought from £l4 to £l7 ; heavy draught colt, £2B ; light harness, £6 to £ll ; horse and harness, £l2 10s ; draught entire, £6O ; springcart, £7 5a ; horse rugs, 12s to 14s 6d each, were the prices obtained. On Tuesday hides, pitched in average number, kept last week's values. Ox hides were from 3d to 4d ; cows', 2d to 3:Jd ; calfskins, 3d to 3§d lb ; tallow, 12s 3d to 16s cwt ; fat. lid lb ; fresh sheep pelts, 2a 4d to 3-i lOd ; dry skins, 9d to 3s Id each. On Monday, at Pukekohc. a moderate muster of cattle were at late values. Cows at profit brought from £3 5s to £5 : fat cows, £4 10s to £4 15s ; dry cows, £1 5s to £2 10s ; fat steers, £6 10s ; calves, 12s to £1 each. At Remuera on Thursday, dairy cattle, in usual numbers, were dull of sale. Those at profit were from £3 10s to £5 17s Gd each. Store cattle sold freely at full values. Fat young calves required. Young calves, from 3a to 6s ; medium-seized, 10s to 17s ; heavy calves, 24s to 40s each ;50 sold. Fat cattle, in average supply ; 216 sold ; those of choice quality brought from 18s to 20s ; medium, from 16s 1001 b. Fat sheep, in less supply than usual, were at late values. Wethers brought from 6s to 15s 9d ; ewes, Ss to 12s 3d ; fat lambs, 7s to 13s 6d ; store lambs, 2s 6d to 4s each ; 1200 yarded. Pigs in short supply, 55 sold, mostly porkers, brought from 15s to 33s each.
