AUCKLAND NEWS.

(by telegraph—press association). AncKLAND, Last Night, A requisition* to the Mayor, asking him to call a public meeting to consider the extension of the Auckland railway to Stratford, thus connecting Auckland by rail to Wellington, is being extensively sigued. The man who committed suicide at Cut Hill, Northeote, on the 19th June, has ac last been identified by his mining mate at Cabbage Bay, Reginald Dixon, who to-day at the Auckland motgue saw the clothing and boots. He states they are those of his mate, Alexander Kelly, who left the mining camp ou the 14th June for Waikato. He said he was continually talking about " what it. would be like to be dead."
