Zola and Parreux, his publisher, have been condemned to a year's imprisonment, and fines inflicted amounting to 30,000 francs, for libelling the First Council of War. Judgment was allowed to go by default, but an appeal will be made on the ground that they were not allowed to submit Dreyfus' evidence.
