HAMILTON LITERARY SCIENCE CLASSES.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—For the information of those youne people who are anxious to improve their inimls during she winter eveuinus, I wish to state that ariaugenieuts hive been made to form Science classes in "Hamilton, in connection with the Hamilton L'terary Club. The first class will meet under my supervision at the Hamilton Wealeyan schoolroom, on Wednesday evening next, at 7.30 p.m., and the subject to be studied is " Logic, or the Science of Reasoning." Other subjects, such as mathematics, physical science, political economy, history, elocution, languages, etc., will be taken up under efficient supervision, as arrangements are completed. I don't intend to take all the classes. There will be no charge for the course of lectures on " Logic, which I begin on Weduesday next, and I am anxious that a large number of young people, and adults too, for the matter of that, will attend the first lecture and continue during the whole course. All I ask is that those who intend to pass examinations provide writing material at each lecture, and be punctual and regular. No text-books need be brought, but, if possessed, they may be useful. I would like the names of those who intend to follow the course through, before the first meeting on Wednesday, July 20th (next Wednesday). I may also say that the room will be made as comfortable as possible by the aid of a good fire, and no restrictions be made, except to children wdio attend the day-school. We don't intend to reach them. Trusting the scheme vyill answer its desired end, and thanking you in anticipation,—l am, &c, John Hosking.
