RANGIAOHIA ROAD BOARD

The usual monthly meeting of the Eangiaohia Road Board was held on Saturday last. There Mere present : Messrs W. H. Mandeno (Chairman), E. Kay, Geo. McKinder, M. Turuey and E. Burke. Valuation Eoll. The ValuerGeneral wrote stating that a copy made by the clerk from the Waipa County Eoll for the Board would not be a valid valuation roll; that every roll for local authorities rating on the capital or unemployed value must be supplied by the Valuer-General, iurthcr, that it would be impossible for the Commissioner of Taxes to certify to subsidy on rates collected on the invalid roll. The cost for making the roll would be the copying expenses. Eatb.— It was resolved that notice of intention to strike a rate' of jjd in the £ on all rateable property be given. Subsidy.—The usual form of declaration to be made by the chairman re Government subsidy was received. Balance-sheet.— The balance - sheet, books, etc., made up to 31st March last, were received back from the audit office duly audited, the credit balance at the end of the year being £72 7s Id. Furze.—Resolved that notices to clear furze, etc., be sent to several of the ratepayers. Works.—lt was decided to obtain timber for the necessary repairs for John's and Churches' bridges. Road Fence.—Mr A. Forkert waited on the Board with regard to the road leading to his property being fenced across by his neighbour.—The matter was left in the hands of the member to attend to. Accounts.—The following accounts were passed for payment:—Auditor, £1 13s 4d ; Bearsley, lis 6d ; Ingham, £2 17s 6d ; clerk, £5.
