AUCKLAND AND WELLINGTON MAIL SERVICE.
(BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION). Wellington, Last Night. An* agreement has been come to between the Union and Northern Steamship Companies and the Postal Department, by which, on and after Ist December. the Union Company's steamers will leave Ouehunga on Mondays and Thursdays (as at present), and the Northern Company's steamers on Sundays and Wednesdays. The Union Company's steamers will arrive at Onehunga ou Wednesdays and Saturdays, and the Northern Company's steamers on Tuesdays and Fiidays. In connection with the running of these steamers, express trains will run from both ends on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The new service will thus give a mail to and from Auckland four times a week, instead of twice.
