The Chief Justice's opinion on "hearsay evidence," wjis given expression to in the Supreme Court at Wellington (says the Tost) :—" You shouldn" say you know a thing because you heard it. I hear a <;teat many things, but I don't know them. In tact,-' he drily added, " I often know to Hie contrary."
