The Waika'to Aroub Office. Wednesday. MR VV. J.- HUNTER'S OHAUPO

SALE. On Tuesday at Mr W. J. Hunter's sale about 200 head of cattle were yarded of a mixed variety. Very few growu steers were offered. Dairy cows were numerous, about 45 were offered, but only a few were of a good class. Good auimals near profit were in demand, and sold up to £5 ss. Calves were fairly well represented, but prices were the same as usual, 14s 6d being the highest price for mixed sexes. Beef sold fairly well at Auckland prices. There was a fair attendance of the public. The following are the quotations : Dairy cows, from _£3 10s to £5 09, with a good demand for anything near profit ; springing heifers, from £2 10s to £3 15s ; 21-year-old heifers, £2 6s ; three-year-old steers, £3 6s ; empty cows, from 30s to £2 10s ; fresh-conditioned yearling heifers, m good condition, 30s ; calves, from 12s to 14s 6d. Beef : Fat cows, from £4 to £4 12s 6d ; fat steers, from £5 15s to £6 12s 6d. Sheep : About 1400 were yarded, very many of a good class. Ewes, in lamb, from 6s 2d to 7s Bd, according to age and condition ; crossbred empty ewes, from 6s 3d to 6s lid ; crossbred wethers, 10s 3d. There was a fair demand, and 1000 were sold under the hammer.—(Own Correspondent).
