(BY TELEGRAM.—PRESS ASSOCIATION). Auckland, Last Night. CHARGE OF ASSAULT. Edmond Trevor was committed for trial on a charge of assaulting Phillip Sanford, in May last. Sanford was for weeks in the hospital suffering from concussion of the brain. CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL. The foundation stone of the Costley wards of the Children's Hospital was laid to-day by Mr J as. Stichbury, Chairman of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, in the presence of the members and the general public. RACING CONFERENCE. Messrs Percival and MeLeod, representing the Auckland Racing Club, and Messrs E. W. Allison and H. H. Hayr, chosen to act for the country clubs in this district at the approaching conference at Wellington, left by the Rotoiti to-day.
