The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) report:—Auckland Wool Stores, July 6th. "We submitted a very full catalogue at our sale ou Tuesday. Hides : Prime stout ox sold at s£d to 6fd ; heavy stout ox, 4Ad to sjd ; medium, 4d to 4§d ; light, 3Jd to 3sd ; stags, 2d to 2jd ; kip, 3d to 4d ; calf, sound, 3£d to 4d. Sheepskins : Large, 3s to 3s Sid ; small and medium, 2s 3d to 2s 9d. Tallow : Best, 16s to 17s ; medium, 14s to 15s 6d. Horsehair : Is to Is 3d. Cowhair : 8d to 9d. Oats : The market has suffered another fall, owing to shipments being in excess of requirements. Prices are 2s 6d and 2s 5d for B and C grades, _ c.i.f. Maize : Heavy shipments still arriving, and the market is weak. Old maize selling at 3s 7d ; new, 2s sd, ou wharf. Chaff: Shipments from the South have weakened the price for the local chaff. Present price, £4 and .£4 2s 6d ; but some first-class lines found buyers at £4 ss. The Southern market is showing a strong upward tendency, and local must rise in sympathy with it. Potatoes : The market is very heavily stocked, prime Southern selling at £7, and locals from £5 10s to £6 10s. Messrs Hunter and Nolan's Report.— Horsefeed. seed, grain, etc.: Maize is selling on wharf at from 2s 6d to 2s 9d ; ex store, 2s 10d ; feed oats, 2s lOd to 3s; seed do., 3s 3d to 3s f>d; chaff, £4 to £4 10s ton ; bran, £4 15s to £5. Horses: On Friday, at the Durham yards, a good many were brought forward and disposed of. Heavy draughts brought from £l3 5s to £2O; medium do., £9 10s to £l4 17s 6d ; light harness do., £3 5s to £8 17s 6d ; hacks, £3 5s to £lO 12s 6d ; an upstanding buggy horse made £ls. Wool, hides, skins, and tallow: A large quantity was again gone through. Hides—Prime stout ox, 5d to 6d lb; stout, 4d to 4^l; light ox, 3d to Bjd ; cow hides, to 3gd ; kips, 3|d to 3|d ; stag hides, l£d to l£d ; calf skins, 2£d to 3|d. Sheepskins : Is 9(1 to 3s 9d ; picked do., 4s 6d to 5s 3d ; pelts, 3d to Is 6d. Tallow : 12s 3d to 16s 3d cwt; rough fat, 1-Jd lb. Cattle : There was a large number of dairy and store cattle yarded at the Newmarket yards on Tuesday, but less than an average number of beef. At Papakura yards od Wednesday dairy and store stock were yarded in üßual numbers. We quote : Ox beef, from 16s to 19a; cows, 14s to 16s; steers brought from £4 12s 6d to £8 2s 6d ; cows, £3 2s 6d to £5 ; dairy cow?, £3 5s to £6 ; dry cows, £1 15s to £2 5s ; heifers, £1 53 to £1 Pis 6d ; 2-year-old steers, £1 15s to £2 2s 6d ; calve 3 and yearlings, 14s to £1 Is; grown steers, £3 15s to £4 ss. Sheep : The Newmarket yards were fairly well filled on Tuesday, and sheep advanced fully Is - per head on last week's quotations; fat wethers sold at from 8s 6d to 15s ; ewes, 8a to 13s ; lambs, 4s 6d to 7s 9d. Pigs : scarce; sold at from 16s to £1 ss. Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons' Weekly Report.—At the Haymarket, meadow hay in increased quantity kept late values, prices ranged from 4s to 5s cwt ; straw, 15s to £1 4s load ; carrots, £1 10s ; potatoes, £6 to £7 10s ; straw chaff, £3 5s ; oaten chaff, £4 to £4 15s ; blood and bone manure, £4 10s ; guano, £3 103*; bonedust, £6 5s ton ; oats, 2s lOd to 3s 6d ; maize, 2s lOd to 2s lid ; maize, ou wharf, 2s 9d bushel. On Friday horse stock were in better demand than of late. Heavy draught brought from £l6 to £25 ; medium draught, £7 to £lO 10s ; the racing mare Rennosa, £350 : Cleopatra, £l6 ; Bouquet, On Tuesday hides, offered numerously, were at last week's quotations. Ox hides, 3jd to 4Jd ; cow hides, 2[d to 3id ; kip, 3id ; stags, ljd to 2fd ; calfskins, 2sd to 3Ad ; fat, l£d lb ; tallow, 15s 6d to 153 9d cwt ; butchers' pelts, 2a 8d to 4s ; dry pelts, Is to 3s 5d each ; lambswool, 5d ; locks, to 3d lb. At Remuera on Thursday, dairy cows yarded numerously, were in better inquiry than for some time ; those at profit were from £5 to £6 10j each. Store cattle fairly represented ; calve 3 and yearlings were required at a slight advance in values ; well-grown three-year-old shorthorn steers averaged £3 103 : calves, in moderate number, none of large size, were better worth. Fat cattle, short of requirements, .were better worth ; prices for steers were from 18a to £1 the 1001 b ; prices for steers were from £6 to £9 12a Gd ; cows, JJ3 15s to £6 12s 6d (2015 sold). Sheep in full supply ; all well-fatted fully kept last week's values. Wethers ranged from 8s 9d to 17s 3d, ewes 8s to 15s each (1600 sold). Lambs fairly represented (160 sold), ranged from 5s 6d to 10s each. Pigs in usual number (above 60 sold), kept late values ; porker 3 were from 15s to £1 9s ; heavy piga, up to £2 12s Gd each.
