TE AWAMUTU.

Ranoiaouia Road Boakd.—The usual monthly meeting of the Rangiuohia Road Board was held on Saturday last, when there were present :—Mess's Richard Burke, Geo. McKinder and Goger Kay. Mr Burke occupied the chair in the abseuce of the chairman. —The Clerk stated that the Board's books had been returned from the audit office (accounts audited to 31st March last) together with certified balance-sheet.—A communication was received from the Commissioner of Crown lands, requesting the Board to have the name of M. Corboy placed on the roll for Lot 108. Parish of Puniu (Block-house Reserve, Orakau). The following accounts were passed for payment :- Tuk Waikato Akops, £1 5s 6d ; A. Swarbriek, £6 16? ; J. Spragg's account, amounting to £2 4«, carting gravel, was passed for payment, subject to the approval of the Chairman (Mr W, H. Mandeno). Deainagk Board.—A meeting of the Mangahoi Drainage Board was held iu the Board's office on Saturday last. The trustees present were Messrs W. North, J. M. Ingham and Geo. Airier. Owing to illness the Chairman, Mr J. Hutchiu son, was unable to attend, and Mr North was voted to the chair. The usual resolution for the bank overdraft was passed. Several other matters in connection with the drainage works were discussed. The accounts passed for payment were : A. Swarbriek, £3 3s ; Returning Officer, 10s 6d.' •

Sale Day.—Mr W. J. HuDter's usual sale took place on Saturday, and wis well attended, the cattle yards were well filled. A number of Auckland tram horses were offered and averaged about £8 a-piece. The fifty acres of land situated near Kihikihi. offered by the Puniu Domain Board, was sold for £sl, the upset price being £SO ; Mr J. Anderson was the purchaser. Locally-grown lemons were in great demand and fetched as high as 5s 3d per small case, the usual price at previous auctions was 2s Cd per similar case. Young pigs, 6s each ; tur keys, in boxes, 2s 6d to 4s each. Liuraky.—The annual entertainment in aid of the Library funds takes place in the Town Hall to-morrow evening. The management is m the hands of the Chairman, Mr Vause, which is quite sufficient to say that you will have your money's worth. All old Crimean or Indian veterans, with their wives, are to have free admission.—(Own Correspondent).
