The Waikato Argus Offick, Wednesday. MR W. J. HUNTER'S OHAOPO SALE. At Mr W. J. Hunter's sale on Tuesday, about 300 head of cattle were yarded, many of a good qua'ity and in fair condition. Calves were well represented, for which there was a demand ; prices having an upward tendency for all classes of younp stock. Not many grown steers were offered ; but anything iu fresh condition, either cows or steers, sold well. About twenty dairy cows were-offered of a fairly good description, for which there was a good demand for anything near their profit ; springing heifers selling well, up to £4 10s. The tone of tho market was firm, and with few exceptions, every pen was sold under the hammer. The following are the prices :—Dairy cows, from £2 103 to £4 10s ; springing heifers, from £2 10s to £4 7s ; 15-months old steers and heifers (mixed), from 29s to 32s 6d ; yearling do., from 21s to 29s ; calves (mixed sexes), from 10s to 17s 6d, according to qualitv and condition ; small two-year-old heifers, nearly fat, £2 ; three and ahalf year old steers, £4 7s ; fat cows, up to £4 10s. Sheep : About 300 were yarded and all sold. Crossbred ewes, in lambs, 7s 4d ; empty ewes, from 6s 3d to 6s 4d.—(Own Correspondent).
