"REQUIESCAT IN PACE."
11. L, HOOPER. With grief sincere we mourn our friend, We weep with those that weep, Our tears in sympathy we tend, Our brother laid to sleep. His trials end, his labours o'er, The Master calls away, The life now goue we all deplore, Yet his the better day. No shadow ou his life doth rest, His memory all revere, Our hearts doth grieve for those oppressed, The ones he held so dear. Faithful and true his record saith, Life's duty first of all, Hath answered Heaven's call. A geuerous servant he, till death, As comrade we can ne'er forget, As brother to him turn, As father shall the child regret, An honoured name did eani. Thy life well spent, more worth than fame, A gentle spirit thine, Untouched by meaner thoughts, then came To thee a crown divine. To others may thy life impart, The path thou loved'st to dwell, Thine e'er a faithful honest heart We speak our fond farewell. A. T. Creighion.
