CHARGES BY REV. F. W. ISITT
(BY TELEGRAPH-PRESS ASSOCIATION). Auckland, Thursday. The Rev. F. W. laitt has preferred a number of charges against the_ police force, which will be enquired into on Monday. They include charges of outside political influeuce ; that the laws relating to gaming are not strictly enforced ; and that the laws relating to the sale of liquor in the King Country have in the past been administered with special laxity. Auckland, Last Night. At the sitting of the Police Commission G. E. Sentley, described as a journalist, said that during the past two and a-half years he had on numerous occasions suffered from alcoholism and had been frequently in a lock-up. There was no provision for treating persons suffering from alcohol. He complained that the biankets were in a filthy condi. tion. The prisoners were not allowed exercise and messages to friends were not delivered. These and other charges made by Bcntley were refuted by the Inspector. *
