Mb W. J. Hunter held a sale of turnip cattle in his yards at Ohaupo on Tuesday. About 450 head were yarded of a mixed variety. There was a good line of grown steers from Te Kuiti, and several good lots from other districts. Calves were also numerous, for which there was a demand at an advance of about 3a per head. Dairy cows were also in demand at fair prices. The market for all classes (with the exception of yearling! and two-year-olds) had an upward tendency, grown oattle and beef selling well. The day was fine, with a good attendance of buyers, and bidding was brisk, with one or two exceptions all the lota changing hands The following are the prices :—Grown steers in forward condition, from £i 10a to £6 ; three-year-olds, from £3 3s to £3 12s 6d; two and a-half-year-olds, £2 16s; two-year-olds, £2 6s ; empty cows, £2 2s 6d ; stags, £1 7s to £2 3s; calves, mixed sexes, from 12s to 17s, with a Rood demand ; springing heifers, from £3 to £4 ; cows do., from £3 10s to £4 4s; fat heifers, small, from £3 to £3 16s; fat cows, from £4 to £5. Sheep: About 600 were yarded ; store wethers, 93 6d ; fat do., lis 6d ; fat ewes, 7s ; ewes in lamb from 5s lOd to 6s 6d ; small lambs, 4s 7d. Horses : A line of 60 horses, consisting of foals and two-ysar-olds, in low condition, off the Kawhia run, sold at 4s 6d each.—(Ohaupo Correspondent). NEW ZEALAND DRUG COMPANY'S MANURES.
