WEDDING BELLS.
On Wednesday, 25th May, Mr A. E, Manning, of Hamilton, was married to Miss Kees, daughter of Mr W. J. Recs, of "Riverside," Shelly Beach Road, Ponsonby. The coremony, which was performed by Rev. T. F. Robertson at " Riverside," was a very quiet one, the wedding party consisting solely of the relatives and intimato friends of the contracting parties. The bride was attired in a handsome dress of white figured silk, with long train, the bodice beiug trimmed with lace and pearls. She wore a coronet of orange blossoms, and a veil of Brussels net, and carried a lovely shower bouquet, composed of white roses and maiden hair ferns, with white streamers. Miss Gwouda Rees, who filled the position of bridesmaid, wore a charming cream figured lustre, prettily trimmed with buttercup silk, and carried a bouquet of white and yellow daisies and ferns. Mr Wilfred Manning, brother of the bridegroom, attended as best man. After the health of the bride and groom had been drunk in bumpers, the happy couple left for their honeymoon, the early part of which was spent at Otahuhu. The bride's going-away dress was a striking travelling costume oi dark green coat and skirt, with pale blue vest, hat to match. Mr and Mrs Manning were the recipients of many handsome and useful presents from their numerous friends, The young couple returned to Hamilton on Tuesday, aud all who know them will join with us in wishing them every happiness in their wedded life.
Seldom has the quiet little township of Te Awamutu presented such a scene of festivity as it did on Tuesday morning last on the occasion of the marriage of Miss Helen Mandeno to Mr Paterson, of Ngaruawahia, and Miss Emily Mandeno to Mr Drabble, of Tnhikaramea, both the brides being daughters of our muchrespected fellow-townsman, Mr James L. Mandeno, chairman of the Te Awamutu Town Board. The service took place shortly after 9 o'clock in St. John's Anglican Church, the Rev. J. L. A. Kayll officiating. Long before the appointed time crowds were to be seen from all directions making their way to the old church to witness the double wedding. The brides, who looked exceedingly pretty, wore pretty Nun's veiling gowns, with orange blossom wreaths and tulle veils, and carried lovely bouquets arranged by the brides' sister. The bridesmaids wore tasteful green costumes and bouquets to match, green and white. The bridesmaids were Miss Maud and Florrie Mandeno, sisters of the brides, aud Miss Paterson. They also looked very pretty. After the ceremony the happy couples left, amidst showers of rice and old boots, for Auckland, where the honeymoon will be spent. —(Own Correspondent). On Tuesday afternoon Mr Herbert Hunt, of Hayga*e, Ngaruawahia, was married to Miss Swanson, second daughter of Mr George Swanson, of Whatawhata. The ceremony was a quiet one, beiug performed by the Registrar (Mr Thos. Kirk), at his office, only the relatives of the parties being present, We wish Mr and Mrs Hunt prosperity and success in the future.
Yesterday a wedding took place at Pukerimu when, by the Rev. Thoinos Scott, Jean, eldest daughter of Mr William Scott, of Pukerimu, was married to John Frederick, son of Mr Henry Vercoe of Te Puke. The presents were numerous and handsome, not the least being a hooded buggy and horse. The happy couple caught the afternoon train at Hamilton eu route for Paeroa, where they will reside.
