WAIKATO LICENSING COMMITTEE.
The anuual meeting of the Waikato Licensing Committee was held at the Courthouse, Hamilton, yesterday. There were present:—Capt. Jackson (Chairman), and Messrs E. Fitzpatrick, I. Coates, J. P. Bailey, Geo. Edgecumbe, and C. J. Storey. Sergeant Staploton, and Constables Cavanagh, Maconochie, Jones aud Carroll represented the police, and Mr L. O'Neill appeared on behalf of Messrs L. D. Nathan aud Co. renewals. The following renewals were granted, all the police reports being favourable :-- H. Rowlands, Royal Hotel, Raglan ; T. E. Hallett, Railway Hotel, Mercer; Win. Preston, Royal Hotel, Hamilton ; J. W. H. Bright, Hamilton Hotel, Hamilton; Jno. Teddy, Ohaupo Hotel, Ohaupo ; Smith, Harbour View Hotel, Raglan ; H. Lewis, Tc Awamutu Hotel, Te Awamutu ; Mrs Cnrboy, Kihikihi Hotel, Kihikihi; G. Maunder, Star Hotel, Kihikihi ; E. Simmelhag, Delta Hotel, Ngaruawahia ; Josh Smith, Waipa Hotel, Ngaruawahia; Mrs Harris, Huutly Hotel, Huntly ; R. Spencer, Frankton Hotel, Frankton ; P. LeQuesoe, Waikato Hotel, Hamilton ; G. J. Maun, Commercial Hotel, Hamilton ; Mrs Lovell, Taupiri Hotel, Tuupiri; W. Reid, Royal Mail Hotel, Rangiriri; T. E. Smith, Bay View Hotel, Miranda; S. Wilson, Hot Springs Hotel, Waingaro : W. Ceach, Whatawhata Hotel, Whatawhata. The application made' by Mr Smith for a license for the Club Hotel, Huntly, was withdrawn. The transfer of the Ohaupo Hotel from M. S. Laurie to Jno. Teddy, was granted. Mr O'Neill reported that it was intended to increase the size of the Waipa Hotel, Ngaruawahia, and the Chairman remarked the proposed alterations, of which plans were submitted, would be a decided improvement. Permission was granted to Mrs Harris to use a temporary bar at the Huntly Hotel in order that the Club Hotel might be removed to where the bar at present stands.
