(BY TELEGRAPH - PRESri ASSOCIATION). Wellington, Last Night. Heavy southerly gales have been raging and the weather is very cold. The hills on the other side of the harbour are covered with snow. The shipping has been much interfered with. The Penguin could not get out last night -with the Vancouver mail, which leaves to-day, and the northern portion was sent on by special tra ; n to catch the Roloiti at New Plymouth. Later. The fierce southerly gale which has been blowing for the last two days shows signs of abating, though the weather ia very wintry, and snow has fallen iu the outlying districts. Donedin, Saturday. Snow is falling in town, and the hills are covered.
