(BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION). ' Wellington, Last Night. In the Supreme Court an application by the Otago Daily Times Company v. Mills, M.H.R., for a new trial in the libel case, was dismissed with 10 guineas costs. Pahiatua, Last Night. A child, aged three years, the daughter of D. Toomey, settler, of Scarborough, died this morning from burns received yesterday. She was playing with some other children, and burning paper, when her clothes caught fire, burning her most severely. Invercargill, Last Night. A sharp shock of earthquake was felt at 12.55 to-day. Chkistchurch, Last Night. Mrs Alfred Saunders, wife of the exmember for Selwyn, who arrived in the colony in 1844, died yesterday, aged 69. Wanganui, Last Night. At Aramoho, one of the thriving suburbs of Wunganui, to-day, Mitchell's Aramoho Freezing Works were formally opened, making the second industry of the kind here. The gatheiing was very large, and representative of the commercial and pastoral interests of the district. Apologies were received from the Hon. the Premier and the Minister for Lauds. The new works bid fair to be successful, having sufficient stock in hand to keep going during the present season, with a promise of 50,000 sheep to start with next season.
