THE BRUNNER CASES.

(BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION). Wellington, Last Night. Judgment was given by the Chief Justice to-day upon the application of Mr Jellicoe, in res-ptct to the Brunner mine cases, for the cost of an abortive trial at Hokatika, in which the jury disagreed. His Honor disallowed the application, and also another motion by Mr Jellicoe, for au allowance v.o his clients of half the cost of shorthand writers' notes, in cases brought by relatives of the deceased miners against the company and deben-ture-holders on a question of priority of lien. Judgment was entered for defendant in pursuance of the recent decision of the Court of Appeal.
