A SENSELESS HOAX.
Auckland, Saturday. A sealed bottle was picked up in the Auckland harbour to-day, containing the following message :—" S.S. Maitland, coast of Australia.—For God's sake, send help and provisions ; we are starving. We ha\c drifted ">0 miles north of wreck Maitland.—Signed, F.C."
