AN INVALUABLE DISCOVERY.

Many wonderful and valuable discoveries have from time to time beeu made by men in all positions and in all parts of the world. The discovery recently made, however, by Mr George Batchelor, a well-known farmer of the Hortou River, N.S.W., has proved of the utmost importance, both to himself and to others. A reporter thus describes a visit to Mr Batchelor's residence : Mr Batchelor was engaged ploughing when I called on him. " I hear, Mr Batchelor," said I, " that you have just experienced a remarkable recovery from a very long illness, aud discovered Dr. Williams' Pink Pills for Pale People to be a perfect cure for your ailment." " Exactly so.' " Would you mind narrating the particulars of your case for publication ?" " Certainly I will, for I think the case is one which should have all the publicity possible. I am 65 years of age, and have been resident in this district for about 12 years. Prior to my coming here I had always enjoyed the best of health, and I had been accustomed to work very hard. About six years ago, however, all my energy seemed to gradually desert me. 1 suffered acutely and constantly from pains in my limbs, lo3tmy appetite, aud for months at a stretch I did not know what it was to get a good night's sleep. Work of the very lightest nature at last became beyond the question with me, and I could do nothing but sit by the window and content myself by watching the others work the farm. I gave up all hope of ever being able to do any more work, and almost believed that every week which commenced would be my last. In my endeavours to stay the ravages of the ailment which had overtaken me, which were gradually drawing ine into the grave, I tried innumerable so-called cures and swallowed an unconscionable quantity of medical compounds, but beyond giving me temporary relief occasionally, they, none of them, did me any good ;"in fact, I honestly believe that the majority of them only aggravated my sufferings.
