HAMILTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The Hamilton Borough Council sat last evening at 7.30 p.m. as a Burgess List Revision Court. There were present : His Worship the Mayor, Mr W. Dey (in the chair), and Crs. H. Tristram, W. Crawford, R. J. Gwynne, S. Davis, O. Tippin and D. Salmon. The Clerk reported that the necessary notices had been given, and no objections had been received Ho reported that there were 235 names on th. 9 burgess list, and 158 on the defaulters' list. The Mayor and Crs. Tristram and Salmon were authorised to sign the burgess list on behalf of the Council. ORDINARY MEETING. The adjourned ordinary meeting of the Council was then held, the same members being present. Municipal Conference.—A circular was received from the Secretary of the Municipal Association, asking the Council to appoint a delegate to represent them at the Municipal Conference, which will be he'd during the coming season, and also to notify the subjects which the Council may wish lo be brought up at the Conference.—lt was decided to request Mr Lang to represent the Council. Gravel. —Permission was granted to Mr W. O. Castleton to get a few loads of gravel for his private use on the usual terms. Reports. The Chairman of the Works Committee stated that the committee had no report to bring up.—The Foreman of Works reported the various works carried out during the past month. —The Mayor reported that the committee appointed to bring the matter of the delivery of mails, etc , at the Hamilton Post-office before the authorities had met and forwarded a letter to the Chief Postmaster. Payments.—The following accounts were passed for payment, viz. : Hamilton Gas Company, £5 53 ; T. W. Maunder, £1 12s 5d ; W. Andrew, 9s ; Jos. Frear, £l3 14a ; Jas. Bond, 3s ; L. Chappell, 5s ; J. Ridler, £2 16s 6d ; R. Waite, £U 17s 8d ; Parr Bros., 4s 6d ; Jno. Devitt, £1 12s 6d ; N.Z. Insurance Company, 12s 9d. HAMILTON DOMAIN BOARD. The meeting of the Hamilton Domain Board was held at 8 p.m. The same members as above were present. Leases.—The Secretary reported that the Lake and Galloway street Reserves had been let for £1 17s 6d and £2 7s 6d respectively. Obstruction.—-Mr R. Hines wrote asking the Board to comply with a previous request from him to compel Mr Peterson to lemove the obstruction from the road between allotments 45 and 46. Hamilton East.—Mr Tippin moved that the request be acceded to, seconded by the Chairman pro forma.— Mr Tristram moved as an amendment that Mr Petersen be asked to erect a gate at the place complained of.—Seconded by Mr Gwynne.—The amendment was then put and carried, only the mover and seconder voting for the original motion, Mr Crawford leaving the room without voting. One account for Mr T. W. Maunder, 15s sd, was passed for payment.
