[Reprinted from our Daily Extra for Tuesday.] Washington, May 9. Admiral Sampson announces his arrival off the Haytian coast, where he awaits his scouting vessels, who are seeking information as to the movements of the Cape Verdo Spanish fleet. San Domingo officials report hearing heavy ounnonading off Monte Cristi. It is believed that Admiral Sampson has fallen in with and engaged the Spanish fleet. If be succeeds in destroying the Spanish vessels he will blockade, and if necessary capture Puerto Rico. Washington, May 9. The American cruising ships, Vicksdurg and Morrill, had a narrow escape of destruction by the Spaniards, being lured into chasing a Havanna schooner. Much damage was done to the rigging and tho deck fittings. Madrid, May 8. Serious rioting has occurred at Murcia. A dynamite store was looted, the law courts burned, the gaols broke open, and the prisoners liberated. May 9. Great unrest prevails in the rural districts, causing the Government great anxiety. It is proposed to relieve the unemployed by extending the public works. A state of siege prevails at Badajoz and Alicante.
