FOOTBALL.
A good practice was indulged in by the members of the Hamilton Cl'ib on Saturday last. Another one will be held on Saturday next, and the team to play against Ohaupo will be chosen after the game. The football season was opened in Auckland on Saturday. Parnell beat City by 14 to 3, Ponsonby beat Suburbs by 6 to 4, and Newton beat Grafton by 9 to nil.
