Prices again improved to-day, and business all through this month has been very brisk. Potatoes rose another 5s in Canterbury, and onions are firm. Oats still firming. Maize well held. Butter rose by leaps and bounds during the last few days, and all lines of factory rolls are firm to-day at Is, an order for 300 boxes at that price beiug unprocurable in the colony. In consequence dairy butter is realising big prices, also butter of any kind. Apples are better held this year, and consequently plentiful supplies are still arriving and a rising market. All lines of fruit sold well, apples rising again and pc irs up to 4d lb. Poultry slightly better. Pigs improving, baconeis being in active demand.
