The Waikato Argus Office, Wednesday. MESSRS McNICOL & CO.S OHAUPO SALE. At Messrs McNicol and Co.'s sale on Tuesday, about 160 head of cattle were yarded. Many of them were of a good quality and in forward condition, Not many dairy cows were offered, but that class of cattle are in demand and selling at good prices. Calves and young stock were fairly represented, but are dull of sale. A few pens of grown steers sold at ruling prices. Prices were as follows : Dairy cows, from £3 to £5 ; 18-ir.onths-old Bteers, 35s ; small calves, from 7s_6d upwards ; two-year-old steers, £2 5s ; three-year-old steers, fresh condition, £4 ; 2s-year-old steers, £3 12s 6d ; empty cows, from 303 to 40s. Several pens were passed, but nearly all were sold afterwards privately. Sheep : About 400 Liucoln ewes in lamb were yarded, but none sold under the hammer.—(Owu Correspondent). AUCKLAND MARKETS. BY TELEGRAPH.— OWN CORRESPONDENT). Auckland, Last Night.—Messrs Hunter and Nolan report:—Horses: There was a large muster, and the demand for heavy medium draughts was good. Young and unbroken hacks and light harness horses were dull of sale. Heavy draughts brought from £l3 13s to £24 10s; medium, £ll to £l6; light harness, £3 5s to £l2 7s 6d ; hacks, £4 to £lO 10s ; weedy horses, 7s 6d to £1 17s. Hides : A good catalogue of wool, hides and skins was gone through, and there was free competition. Prime stout ox brought from 5d to 6Jd per lb ; stout, 4d to 4Jd ; steers and cows, 3d to 3|d ; stags, ljd ; calfskins, 3£d to 4d ; tallow, lis 6d to 12s 9d per cwt ; bones, £3 oa per ton ; sheepskins, Is 6d to 33 6d ; pelts and damaged skins, lid to Is 5d ; wools, inferior quality, 5d to 5Jd per lb ; lambswool, 4jd to 5Jd. Fat stock: There was an average muster of fat fttock, but prices showed no improvement. Ox beef, 15a to 17s per 1001 b; cow, 13s to 15s ; steers, £5 to £7 17s 6d ; cows, £3 to £5 2s 6d ; dairy cows, £3 12s 6d to £6 Ps. Sheep : The number of sheep penned was short of requirements, and prices advanced tully Is 6d per head ; wethers, 8a 9d to 12s 6d ; ewes, 7s to 10s 9d. Lambs were entered in usual numbers and sold well from 5a 6d to lis 3d; store lambs, 3s 3d to 4s 9d. Pigs : Pigs were scarce ; porkers, £1 4s to £1 8s ; weaners, 7s.
