MESSRS M'NICOL AND CO.'S THIRD SHEEP FAIR.
The sheep yarded at Ohaupo yesterday at Messrs McNicol and Co.'a third Sheep Fair compared favourahly, so far as quality and condition were concerned, notwithstanding the prolonged dry spell, with those offered earlier in the season. This applies specially to the several lots brought forward by Mr Hine. In the lambs this was particularly noticeable, as the price obtained—7s 2d—would in itself stamp them as being a long way above the average. There were a good few buyers present, and prices were not marked by any great drop, but the demand was limited, and most of the large lines were withdrawn, but considerable sales were effected after the auction had closed. The following is a detailed account of the sale : Client—Two-tooth ewes : Marks, 54 at 4s 2d. Crossbred lambs: Marks, 58 at 4s 4d ; E. C. Shepherd, 54 at 3s 2d. Barker—Crossbred lambs: R.
