MESSRS McNICOL & CO.’S OHAUPO SALE At Messrs McNicol and Co.’s sale on Tuesday there was a fair muster of stock about 170 head—mostly two and three-year-old steers and heifers, and all of a good class. Very few calves and dairy cows were offered. The attendance was small, and although most of the stock was sold, the prices were in favour of the buyer. Prices were as follows ; Three-year-old steers, from £2 15s to £3 5s ; twc-and-ahalf-year-old steers, from £2 lls to £2 15s; dairy cows, £3; IS-months-old steers, from 25s to 31s ; empty cows, low condition, from 25s to 37s 61 ; cood heifers, £2 6s ; small fat heifers, £2 15s ; fat cows. £3 75.-(Own Correspondent). AUCKLAND MARKETS. (BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT). Auckland, Last Night.—Messrs Hunter and Nolan report Horses in fair supply were at late quotation?. Heavy draughts, £l2 to £22 10s ; medium, £8 to £l4 10s ; light harness, £3 10s to £lO 5s ; hacks, £3 to £7 10s ; weedy horses, 10s to £1 10s. Hides and skins had good demand. Stout ox, sid to 63d ; ordinary, 4d to s|d ; steers and cows, 3Jd to 33d ; calfskins, 4d to4id ; tallow, 12s to 14s 3d cwt ; bones, £3"ton ; sheepskins, Is 6d to 4s ; pelts, 4d to Is 3d ; lambskins, Is to 2s 6d ; wcol_ in bales, crossbred, 5d to sjd ; Merino, 5d to sjd; lambs’ wool, 4fd to o|d. There was an average supply of fat cattle at the Junction Yards, and they had an advance of fully 15s per head over last week’s quotations, ox beef realising 18s to 19s per 1001 b, and cow beef 16s. Oxen sold at £5 2s 6d to £9 5s ; fat cows, £3 15s to £5 12s 6d. Dairy cows were numerous. Springers, £3 15s to £6; dry cows, £1 10s to £2 17s 6d. Sheep were penned in large numbers ; wethers, Ss to 10s 9d ; ewes, 7s to 10s ; mixed sexes, 8s to 9s 6d ; lambs, 6s to 9s 6d ; store ewea.jls to ss.
