PROPOSED REGATTA AT AUCKLAND.
(by telegraph—own correspondent). Auckland, Last Night. At a meeting at Devonport, it was decided to hold a regatta during the Auckland exhibition. The programme will be arranged for two Saturdays and a Wednesday. The chief event will be a race for war c»noes, for which a prize of £IOO is to be offered. There will also be canoe hurdle races, war dances, tugs of war, tribe ogainat tribe, and other Maori events.
