WAIKATO AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the executive committee of the above Association was held at the Hamilton offices of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company on Thursday. Mr Jas. Hume (President) occupied the chair. Matters in connection with the annual meeting, which is to be held at Ohaupo next Tuesday, were dealt with. A circular letter from the Secretary of tlie Agricultural Conference Committee at Wellington, re the Association sending a to the next Conference which is to be held at Christchurch iu June, was discussed, the feeling being in favour of the Association being represented if the funds would allow it, the matter being finally held for consideration until the anuual meeting. The sams course was adopted in respect to several questions of importance to the Association, and it is to be hoped that the attendance of members at the meeting on Tuesday will be a full and representative one. The following is the report and balance-sheet to be submitted to the annual meeting of members on Tuesday next at Ohiupo : Annual Report. Your committee have much pleasure in placing before you the sixth annual report and balance-sheet. On referring ti the balance-sheet, you will see that, after paying all liabilities, there still remains a small cash balance, which, no doubt, will be further increased as the outstanding fees and donations, which wc consider good, are received ; and this, in addition to extra sheep yards, horse pens ami other improvements which have been provided out of revenue. Your committee now wish to especially draw the attention of every member to the need of individual effort to still further enlarge the scope and- advance the interests of the Association, by endeavouring to secure members and exhibitors whenever opportunity occurs. Our lease of the present show grounds expiies this year, and the matter of securing fresh grouuds, which are under offer, will come up for discussion at the amiual nv.eting."
